We were offered a good service. New-fashioned room with castle view, pleasant staff - everything was great. Greatly enjoyed our tasty and marvellous breakfast with porridge and poached eggs, as for instance.

1)no lift - though I understand its becouse of historical building. 2)I chose this guest house since we were 3 adults and the guesthouse has family room. I thought I had booked a 3 beds room but I found 1 of them was just a sofa bed and it was not properly made. I was told that they expected us to use just 2 double beds thats why they didnt make an additional bed. This really disappointed me...I booked the family room for us to stay confortably with 3 separate beds but they didnt understand it and even didnt ask us how we wanted to use the room. so poor... 3)heating system didnt work

Location overlooking castle right next to Princes St but in a street that was not noisy. Big comfortable room with great view in bay window. Breakfast
Street parking expensive 2 pound per hour but easy to find so best to leave the car behind. Hotel is on 3rd floor with no lift.

The location was perfect as well as the comfort that castle view guest house provided me with Continental breakfast could be better - i expected a better choise of different cheeses and not the prepacked sort of choice - if i had known this in advance I would have prefered an english breakfast with eggs etc .. Room was OK but a bit tight
Friendly staff, no major issues for the b&b - I surely will come back when I need accomodation in Edinburgh and will recommend this to friends ; ) Thanks for the good service and for sure for being a clean B&B ; ) Thanks

The service was excellent throughout, annoyingly I cant remember the guys name that I spoke to throughout my stay but he went above and beyond to meet my requests and answer my questions and I was really grateful for that, particularly as I was a young(ish) woman travelling alone and I was conscious of this. The room had everything I could have needed and more, I had the single room with private bathroom which was also excellent, I was sceptical of this at first but it was absolutely fine and id definately book the room again without hesitation. I look forward to a return visit!
Those stairs! Wow, id read the reviews and knew about them but I was still shocked, not a place ill be recommending to an elderly relative or someone with a lot of luggage.

Great location, tough stairs
Stayed here with fam and friends, and the location's spot on for exploring Edinburgh. Breakfast was decent, and the manager was super helpful! Just a heads up, the stairs are no joke-climbing 89 steps to my cousin's room was a workout! Perfect for anyone who loves to walk a lot, tho!

Delightful bar on-site, a nice size and well-equipped room with good sized bathroom as well as large double bed. Plenty of options, outstanding food. The best location in the calm area, next to great restaurants and shops and bars and many attractions & shopping...

I loved chilling out in the cozy lounge and enjoyed the lovely garden area for some fresh air. It's the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day exploring. Just a heads up, the staircases can get a bit much, so pack light if you can! 😊
